Granite
vs
Man Made Quartz
vs
Quartzite
Every day we are asked this question by customers who are confused
HERE IS THE TRUTH
Going back approximately 10 years --- The man-made quartz industry was producing ugly – mundane speckled quartz products – some with little red and green specks The best-looking quartz was a two-tone brown mixture. They could not sell this ugly product --- when compared to granite
So in order to create sales, they created a sales campaign based on FEAR of natural stone They created a VERY SUCCESSFUL sales program claiming that granite and other natural stone will stain chip and will require continuous care and maintenance ---- and --- Man-made quartz will not stain – chip or require and care or maintenance. --- and therefore ---- it is a better countertop product choice.
THEY DID A GOOD JOB CREATING FEAR
Then a funny thing happened --- About 4 years ago HGTV started the white/gray look for kitchens and countertops and the White Marble look was promoted.
Cararra Marble ---- Statuary Marble --- Calcutta Marble – Arabesescato Marble
But ( as you probably know ) marble is a softer more porous natural stone
So the man-made quartz industry jumped on the marble color popularity and started making “marble–look–alike “ quartz colors and WAHOO sales exploded.
Now customers are choosing man-made quartz --- for color --- and one never hears anything about FEAR from the man-made quartz industry.
FORGET all about quartz brand names ---No brand is superior --- they are all made the same way---- Approximately 97 % crushed quartz crystals and 7 % resin and coloring ---- Most man-made quartz is expensive
Granite & Quartzite are natural stones mined from the earth. We apply a 15 year
“ Nano Science” sealer ---( no cost ) --- and – neither stone will ever stain
Many granites are less expensive than quartz. Quartzite is expensive.
BOTTOM LINE ---- FORGET ABOUT FEAR - BASE YOUR CHOICE ON LOOKS AND PRICE WITHIN YOUR BUDGET.
