HOW THE PROCESS WORKS –
In order to provide a counter top quote, you will need to select a quartz color and we will need to determine the amount of quartz you will need based on the square feet of your counter top. After we have these two factors, you will be given a written quotation for you to review. It will list the details of your job and our price based on drawings or sketches or field measurement or dimensions provided by phone. The only factor affecting your quote is the price of the quartz you pick. We do not spend one cent more cutting, polishing, transporting or installing the most expensive from the least expensive quartz. If you accept our quote you will contact us and tell us to make templates. Your request to make templates activates our contract and the production process begins.
The first step --- after your cabinets are set --- is to make templates from Koraplasti with your participation and with you making decisions. We will make suggestions about many little features and details but the final decisions will be determined by you. When the templates are finished the quartz will be cut just like the templates we designed together.
Your quote may need to be adjusted based upon final square footage, after the template is finished. Normally there is little or no difference, but the templates will tell the story. Our square foot math calculations are always an open book for you to review.
At template the full amount of the quote will be paid, additions and/or modifications to the quote will be paid at installation.
If you are replacing an existing counter top, we can make templates with the existing top in place, but we won’t be able to address cabinet support problems before we install your new counter top. Cabinet problems will be addressed at the time of installation, which could require abnormal installation procedures, that in the past, have generated additional cost to the customer.
If you are installing new cabinets we can make templates and address all support issues at template time It is very important that your contractor have all surfaces affecting the quartz measurement finished, including trim work which, if excluded, could affect accurate quartz measurements. As we work together we will make suggestions to you and/or your contractor if we think some things need to be addressed. For example, you may need adequate support structure behind the dishwasher and Lazy- Susan, or adequate support system on an overhanging eating bar top.
If you are providing an under mount sink we will need to take your sink with us at template time in order to begin fabrication. We do not trust sink templates. Faucet holes will normally be drilled at installation, so we don’t need the faucet at template time. In some situations, the location of these items can be complicated and you will be asked to verify the location before drilling and/or cutting.
SINK BOWLS – We sell first class 16 gage(25% thicker than 18 gage) -stainless steel polished kitchen sinks with insolated bowls, available in varies bowl configurations for $190.00. We also have 16 gage stainless veggie and bar sinks for less and Porcelain vanity bowls for $65.00 - white or biscuit.
SEAMS – Your counter top will be cut from of slab that on average -- will measure approx. 65” x 116”. (each slab is different). The low price you have been quoted is based upon using the least amount of quartz to produce your counter top. Because of length restrictions, weight, or installation logistics, it will probably be necessary to cut pieces in various lengths, that must be seamed together. Back splashes, may also be seamed. The location and number of seams, will be kept to a minimum, but they are necessary, and are to be determined by the amount of quartz we have to work with. While you should expect seams, many, but not all, are virtually undetectable.

INSTALLATION
Depending on workload, installation can normally occur in about two weeks after templates have been made. The most common problem encountered with installation is un-level cabinets and walls that are not straight and or “out of square”. quartz does not bend, and cabinet and/or wall problems will affect the appearance of your job.
Some problems can be mitigated by calking or shimming; and in some cases
scoring and cutting away the drywall will be necessary to adjust the countertop,
in order to make it fit.(normally drywall cutting will be hidden by the backsplash)
Obviously, most of these problems can be avoided if your walls are “true” and
cabinets are level. You should expect caulking where quartz and walls or
cabinets meet, but it will be virtually invisible. Problems beyond our control can affect installation of your countertop, and could require additional work.
Be sure that on the day of installation you have on site, your faucet, free-standing stove,
cook top or oven if applicable. It’s better that your dishwasher has been installed
so that a countertop support anchor, if needed, can be installed, but we install with out the dishwasher if necessary.
We can disconnect your existing plumbing but we are not licensed to perform plumbing, gas or electric reconnect work. We can, however, suggest a qualified, inexpensive plumber –
electrician. He does excellent work, and his price is low. You will pay him directly.
While under mount cast iron sinks are rare, the installation will require a “cage”
to hold their weight. They cannot be mounted directly to the quartz. If you buy a
cast iron sink be sure to obtain the cage assembly that should come with the sink.
The installation of this type of sink requires special attention, and is more costly.
Please note that the installation crew will attempt to keep dust in your home to a
minimum, however, on-site hole drilling, cook top cutting and other
cutting ---- necessary to fit your countertop, could cause dust.
Silicone caulking ---- will need six to eight hours to dry, and you may have to remove excess
Caulking with a razorblade or solvent after it dries. We will clean up after installation, but
you should expect to perform minor clean-up after installation.
QUARTZ CLEANING
Wipe up spills as they occur. Clean your quartz with normal soap and water. Do not use chemicals.
Once every 3 months you can clean with “denatured alcohol” purchased at H.D. for $6.00
in the paint department. This cleaning will take 10 minutes. One can will last a year.
This is optional cleaning, but it will clean your counter top as antiseptically clean --- as a hospital.
Wipe off the alcohol cleaning with mild soap and water.
TERMS : Sixty percent (60%) of the quote is payable at time of templates, the remaining fourty percent (40%) plus any amount for additions and modification is payable at installation. The customer acknowledges that he/she has read, understands and accepts “teamwork” as the terms and conditions and mutual responsibilities of this sale, and agrees that the granite remains the property of Arco-Iris LLC, even after installation, until the total amount of the contract has been paid. If Arco-Iris decides to remove the counter-top the customer agrees to allow Arco-Iris, LLC to re-enter the property and remove the counter-top.
